Symptoms of Alcohol Abuse
Would you be able to tell if you, or someone you loved, were an alcoholic?
Australia has been named the world's “drunkest” country in the 2020 Global Drug Survey and many Aussie's would deny that they were alcoholics. But there are telltale symptoms that shouldn’t be ignored.
The first sign is a strong craving or compulsion to drink. You begin looking for excuses to have a taste of alcohol.
Losing control is another key symptom. Alcoholics can’t always stop themselves from drinking one after another.
Withdrawal symptoms are also common. Someone with an alcohol dependence will often find themselves sweating or shaking when they’ve gone a long time without drinking.
And they eventually develop a high tolerance for alcohol, needing more and more drinks in order to get a buzz.
If any of these symptoms ring familiar to you, seek treatment immediately—whether it’s you or someone you love.
