"Flat Spots" in Marriage
All marriages go through “flat spots”—those times when you feel like you’re in a rut. That’s why you have to look for ways to reignite the romance.
Lighting a fire under your marriage isn’t really that hard, but sometimes it takes a little imagination.
One good way is to take a short trip down memory lane. Surprise your spouse by taking them to some of your “old haunts.” Why not go to dinner at the restaurant where you had your first date? While there, try to remember every detail about it, like what they wore and what the two of you talked about. Tell them again what you thought the first time you saw them, or how nervous you were the first time you held hands. You might end the night by cuddling together in front of the fireplace while you continue to reminisce.
Just talking about times when your romance was fresh is often the best way to rejuvenate it.
