Dangers of Ecstasy

With all the research out about the harmful effects of drugs, you'd think teenagers would get the message. But the facts show otherwise.

Teen drug use is still running rampant, and one of the most widely abused drugs on the scene is called Ecstasy or MDMA. Unlike most organic drugs, Ecstasy is synthetic, and many teens are convinced that it has no side effects. But they couldn't be more wrong.

Ecstasy works by forcing high levels of serotonin into the brain, causing heightened senses, and increased energy levels. But this dumping of chemicals into the brain causes irreversible damage and can short-circuit the body's ability to control its temperature. Many Ecstasy users end up in the emergency room, and dozens have died from the drug-even in small doses.

So don't buy into the lies. There's nothing safe or harmless about Ecstasy. And, it's illegal.
