Since 1993, Focus on the Family Australia has been strengthening families and communities through its radio programs, preventative education programs, the provision of counselling and referral, as well as providing a full range of resources for families.
Today the organisation has grown to impact close to one million people monthly through its daily radio programs being broadcast by almost 300 stations, training programs, resources and newsletters.
Over the past five years the How to Drug Proof Your Kids (DPYK) program has impacted 40,000 parents in Australia and is now reaching other parts of the world. The program has been exported to Canada, the United Kingdom, France and New Zealand.
Along with DPYK, Focus has developed contemporary, highly effective programs, such as ‘No Apologies,’ ‘Heritage Builders,’ and ‘Bringing Up Boys.’
The number of trained facilitators has also increased dramatically. From 69 trainers in 1998, increasing to over 2,000 trainers by 2005, we have seen an increase of almost 3000% in just six years.

For the past 10 years we have been helping to strengthen families across Australia. We remain dedicated to, and supportive of, all families, one parent, traditional married couple, divorced, blended, and unmarried. We will support them regardless of religion, politics, socio-economic, cultural, age or gender. This commitment forms the backbone of our belief system and our offering and is unwavering.
We interact through newsletters and family-relevant materials with thousand of households each year. Our education programs are impacting families in all areas of family life including parenting, marriage, child and relationships. We do this by developing programs and resources relevant to the needs of families, by using flexible learning formats such as CD-Rom, DVD, books, radio broadcasts, training programs with locally based facilitators, working on prevention methods, and community partnerships.
